Netanyahu challenges Trump’s Gaza “Board of Peace” plans

(MENAFN) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has held meetings with senior advisers to address concerns over US President Donald Trump’s newly formed “Board of Peace” for Gaza. Israel expressed displeasure after being excluded from consultations on the selection of members for one of the board’s executive bodies.

On Saturday, the US announced the first members of the Gaza Executive Board, which includes Turkey’s foreign minister, a Qatari official, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. Netanyahu’s office said the appointments were “not coordinated with Israel and runs contrary to its policy.”

The Board of Peace forms part of Trump’s 20-point plan aimed at ending the Israel-Hamas conflict and will temporarily oversee Gaza’s administration. Its precise structure is still being finalized, with additional members yet to be invited.

The Gaza Executive Board will manage all operational aspects of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), while a separate “founding Executive Board,” which also includes Kushner and Blair, will focus on high-level investment and diplomatic initiatives.
