Turkish, Qatari Foreign Ministers Hold High-Level Talks

(MENAFN) Türkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani conducted high-level diplomatic discussions Friday centered on regional developments, Turkish diplomatic sources confirmed.

The foreign policy chiefs engaged in telephonic consultations, according to official sources.

Türkiye and Qatar, alongside Egypt, have functioned as critical mediators in securing the October ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Both nations hold membership on the Board of Peace, an international reconstruction framework spearheaded by US President Donald Trump initially designed to supervise Gaza's rebuilding efforts following Israel's prolonged military campaign spanning nearly two years—a conflict that has resulted in over 71,000 Palestinian fatalities while obliterating approximately 90% of the territory's essential infrastructure.

The diplomatic engagement underscores continued multinational efforts to address the humanitarian catastrophe and coordinate post-conflict restoration initiatives in the devastated enclave.
